Cardiovascular Research

A study aimed at preventing cardiovascular events such as heart attacks and strokes

Research Study into CVD event prevention

CPS Research has been helping patients by conducting clinical research studies since 1988. We are now studying a new treatment that aims to prevent cardiovascular disease events, like heart attacks, in patients at an increased risk of experiencing them. These patients include those who are overweight, smokers, diabetics and those with high blood pressure.

This study involves taking the study treatment regularly for up to 6 years to assess whether the treatment reduces the risk, and rate, of cardiovascular events. If you're someone who is at an increased risk due to being overweight, due to conditions such as diabetes or high blood pressure, or because you're a smoker, we want to find out whether this study treatment could be of benefit to you.

Information about the Study

In this clinical study, we are investigating the effectiveness of a preventative treatment for cardiovascular events in patients who are at an increased risk of experiencing one.

Cardiovascular Disease affects around 7 million people in the UK and is also responsible for 1 in 4 premature deaths. Can a new treatment help to reduce the risk and rate of cardiovascular events, such as heart attacks and strokes, in patients who are at high-risk? We're looking for people who may be an increased risk due to smoking, diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity etc. to take part today.

The study will involve regular doses of the study treatment over the course of the up to 6 year study.

If you're at an increased risk due to smoking, diabetes or high blood pressure and could benefit from this study, please take our short eligibility questionnaire and our team will be in touch shortly afterwards.

This study involves regular visits to our clinic over the course of the study. There will be compensation for travel and inconvenience.
